We Women Do it better (Nosotras…lo hacemos major)
Country :Puerto Rico
translated by Prof. Charles Philip Thomas
Nosotras...lo hacemos mejor (We Women do it Better) is a bold and daring monologue about relationships. Through the character, Teresa Allyson Pérez, a psychologist for a major company, the powerful and at times very humorous monologue explores women's life with their fathers, sexual awakening, feminine consciousness, marriage, lovers, children, divorce, seduction at 50, and struggles with self esteem. The psychologist takes on the role of a man to reveal the secrets of women being better than men when faced with possible pitfalls in a relationship. One of the most wonderful things about this superb work by Ramos-Perea is its universal quality. While the specific examples come from life in Puerto Rico, the audience member, or reader as the case may be, whether male or female, will relate and experience these same feelings of pain as well as those of joy as the work progresses.
